A founder building across medicine and molecular science
Varun Sharma is a Glasgow-born British-Indian entrepreneur and the founder of NEUVIOR and VARUNÉ Bio. At NEUVIOR, he serves as CEO and CTO and is product architect of PHARMORIS. His work centres on a practical question: how can complex evidence become a useful decision, with a clear human owner responsible for what happens next?
The education of family business
His early education in business came from his father’s corner shop. Writing in Startups Magazine, he recalls asking at seven why a chocolate bar sold for more than its purchase cost, and learning how margins support the costs of running a business. He connects those lessons in cash, customer behaviour and trust to his present interest in systems that turn ambition into reliable execution.
Building medicines intelligence
NEUVIOR gives that approach a focused setting. PHARMORIS, the Medicines Action Layer, is being developed to connect source-linked evidence, accountable human decisions, implementation and value review. Varun leads the product’s architecture alongside the company’s direction. The work remains in controlled, non-production development and evaluation planning. A useful evaluation begins with a defined professional task, the existing approach and the result that would justify another step. Its public medicines-data analyses retain their original sources and reporting periods; they are distinct from a live product connection or an adoption outcome.
A public argument about implementation
His published work follows the same thread. In pharmaphorum, he examines why medicines approval does not automatically become access. In TechRadar Pro, he asks how organisations can tell whether they retain control of an AI system. His September 2026 Express Pharma contribution considers the proofs behind India’s pharmaceutical capability. As a guest on AI Ethics Now, the University of Warwick IATL podcast, he discusses when an AI suggestion becomes a decision for which a person or institution must answer.
VARUNÉ Bio and the questions behind a formulation
VARUNÉ Bio is a separate cosmetic formulation and ingredient research company, operated by VARUNÉ BIOSYSTEMS LTD. Its initial research focuses are polar-associated materials and biochemical light, connected through material function and formulation science. Skin formulation is the first application focus for the polar-materials work; biochemical light initially considers inert surfaces and research tools. Its Explore journeys extend into Polar, Living Light, Rainforest and Geothermal worlds. Public evidence tools let visitors inspect published measurements, conditions and limitations. Proposed Formulation Decision Briefs, Film Comparison Programmes and Evidence Collections connect that reasoning with a prospective development question. Delivery capacity, expertise, scope and rights must be agreed for actual work. External findings remain attributed to their original researchers; Bio’s scientific record and responsibilities remain its own.
NEUVIOR’s wider scientific ambition
NEUVIOR’s three fields are Medicines Intelligence, Biomedical Research and Resource Economics. Its initial biomedical focus concerns glioblastoma recurrence and cells that survive treatment; the programme is in scientific design and development planning. Resource Economics includes ZYLON, whose initial feasibility study is complete, and PHARMORIS-ECO, an active feasibility programme investigating fixed pharmaceutical manufacturing chilling and freezing. Constellation is the company’s location-neutral scientific destinations concept, connecting shared research capability, enterprise space and public discovery. Scotland is under consideration for a possible first destination. The concept remains at predevelopment stage: demand, site suitability, operating responsibility and finance must justify a physical commitment. Its architecture is illustrative. These programmes sit within NEUVIOR and retain their individual evidence and stage; VARUNÉ Bio remains a separate company.
